Ingredients:
5 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cups sliced almonds
cup brown sugar
tsp. salt
tsp. cinnamon
cup light olive oil
cup honey
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup dried cranberries
(or your favorite dried fruit)
You can add more sugar or honey,
But this is the semi-healthy version.
Cooking Instructions:
1. preheat oven to 300 degrees
2. mix oats, almonds, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl
3. in a sauce pan warm oil and honey then stir in vanilla
4. pour liquid over the oat mixture and stir gently with wooden spoon
5. spread granola over cookie sheet
6. bake for 40 minutes stirring every 10 minutes
7. cool completely on a fresh, cool cookie sheet and add cranberries
8. store in airtight container at room temp for 1 week or in freezer for 3 months (makes 9 cups)
Serving Suggestions:
We like granola with fruit and yogurt.. It is also good to eat on its own as a snack or with milk as cereal.
